Amanda Öman (she/they) is a queer scriptwriter, director, video editor, and content producer based in London. Their screenplay, The Art of Being Wicked placed as a quarterfinalist in the Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition 2021, Slamdance’s Screenplay Competition and The Script Lab’s Screenplay Competition in 2020.
Another screenplay, Bitter Honey Sins, was placed as a finalist and semi-finalist at horror screenwriting festivals and a quarterfinalist for the Screencraft Film Fund 2022. Her short, My Pink Palace explores the complicated relationship between parent and child with experimental elements and premiered at the British Shorts Film Festival 2021. Their latest short, Welcome Moonicorns, was produced in less than 2 weeks and incorporates the TikTok interface. Her work features complex female characters with undertones of queerness in genre-blending worlds.
